It sounds incredible
today, but you can still see a lengthy passenger train operating in
GM&O colors, (complete with grime) with a late 1930's Milwaukee Road
look thrown in for good measure. The above photo was taken on the
run in the Moscow, Russia's Kazansky Station in March, 2000 during my
recent visit there. Hopefully I can come up with something of better
quality in the future. You can get the idea though.

The currently operating
Russian passenger train at left also brings to memory the former Milwaukee
Road dining car, number 1077, that operated on the GM&O. The car
appears to have been out of service by the time the above photo was
taken. Could the Russians have been influenced by the GM&O
colors? Who will know!
